Research
In addition to the market analysis, the research phase included groundwork on legal restrictions for bike/ski helmets. Neither the client nor we were experts in this area.

Concept
The key concept of the project brief was to shake up the bike helmet market with a radically different design to contrast the mainstream that emphasized uniform and rather technical aesthetics. So we brought in new key elements, such as fabric layers.

Initial brainstorming sketches resulted in several main product concepts. The concepts represented levels of radicalism in design and construction.

Design refinement and constructive detailing
From the range of concept proposals, the client decided on the most innovative approach. The design includes a number of unique design solutions and material innovations for which several patents have been granted.

Design Prototypes
The detailing process went through several rounds of iterations which we followed closely with in-house created mock-ups and design prototypes. This allowed for rapid progress and both thorrow design evaluation and early identification of technical issues.

Industrial implementation
To prepare the production, we optimised all plastic injection parts according to the manufacturers specifications, provided patterns for the textile soft-shell production and pushed the innovative flexible cushioning system to manufacturability.

Certification process
We followed the testing and certification process to obtain all the necessary labels required by international norms and standards for bike and ski helmets.
